I have a few shirts in this mustard color and I was trying to think of new things to pair them with.  Stripes came to mind, then I automatically thought of a bright red lip.  Everything else just fell into place.  I'm liking minimal makeup with a bright red lip these days.  Not sure how much longer the red lip will be trending so I'm wearing it every chance I get.

 This H&M sweatshirt looks so comfy and for $30 I'm sold, love the loose fit, you can style the outfit on the left with a button down underneath, and the one on the right with a long white tank top.  With Spring ahead, I chose bright bags to brighten up the outfits.  Wear the left outfit for lunch with friends, and the right for running errands, or shopping.

Having kids and running from soccer game to Karate is no excuse for leaving the house in sweats and the T-shirt you slept in the night before.  Yes, you can certainly go to Lululemon and find a cute workout outfit and wear that... but I like to give you the option to make it look like you put a little effort into it.  This supercute parka from Zara will be your go-to this Spring season, pair it with some boyfriend jeans and fun flats and some jewels and poof! automatically own it!  This fun Tory Burch purse isn't a necessity, but if you have the extra cash, it could become a fun staple item in your wardrobe.

Loving this Old Navy trench coat and it's price!  I styled it 2 ways, for work and for weekend plans.  I found the Karl Lagerfeld watch on Pinterest, I want it!  Love the tangerine shoes and earrings, it screams Spring to me!

This tweed pencil skirt from Jcrew is on sale for $60.  Another example that you can just add a chambray shirt and fun necklace and you are ready! I kept the shoes and purse dark, since I still should be styling for winter.

In hopes of Spring coming sooner than later, I found some items from JCrew that were on sale that had a Spring feel to them.  Any fun colored pencil skirt can be paired with a chambray shirt and chunky necklace and would be work-ready.  Stay tuned for my next post on another cute pencil skirt I found on sale!

Well... you win some you lose some... I wore this outfit on Friday, and all day, I sort of felt like a flight attendant.  Then to confirm, I posted my pic on Instagram and Facebook, and someone commented, "coffee, tea, or me?  So, even someone else thought I should be serving coffee, or tea on a 747 in this outfit.  LOL. I think I'll keep the plain white button down to be used as a layer.  Maybe switch it out with a white peplum top.

This boucle skirt is from Forever21, for $9.99.... I couldn't believe it when I saw the price... then I found this super cute leopard purse.  Trend it up with some chambray, add some bright red nails and some pearls and you are ready for your workday. This would look cute with a trench coat and rain boots for your commute too.

Totes are hot this season, and when I saw the RACHEL Rachel Roy "Totally Transparent Zip Top Tote" in the latest issue of InStyle, (available at Macy's.com with free shipping, other select handbags are on Sale 40% off) I just had to style it.  2 ideas that came to mind right away, one for work and one for weekend wear.  With Spring around the corner, I chose a bright pink pencil skirt, and some floral heels.  But, since it's the weekend and snow is everywhere, I kept it real and chose a turtleneck and boyfriend jeans.  Keepin it simple, yet stylish with emerald Kendra Scott earrings.

As soon as that tax check comes in.... we will be going shopping.... here is what I found so far for hubby for spring... I tend to spend more on his clothes because he keeps everything forever, so his cost per wear is a lot less than mine.  I'm ok with spending $80 or more for a shirt/sweater for him... because I know he will continue to wear it for 10 years, until I tell him it's dunzo.  These loafers look super comfy and he def needs a pair!  I went with a little bit brighter colors for spring... since he normally wears navy, charcoal and black all the time.  Trying to branch him out!

First Day of Work

This is what I wore today to my first day of work....  I received an awesome necklace for my birthday, but decided to hold off on wearing it for my first day since it is leopard print! hehe  BUT, you will be seeing it soon because I'm dying to wear it! I decided to go with pearls, since they are classy and a little more professional.  But, showing up to work, everyone was dressed sort of different.  My boss was in a suit, I wore this, my coworker wore a pencil skirt and peplum top, another manager wore server-type black shoes, nylons, black skirt and messy black shirt and another person wore a sweater dress.... So, I'm still trying to figure this place out.  Hoping we get to participate in  casual Friday's, fingers crossed.  Excited for tomorrow!

Last night I had family and friends meets us for dinner and drinks for my birthday.  It was such a good time and was much needed after a stressful week at work.  It was also my last week working there.  Since I was the birthday girl, I wanted to be on the dressier sided.  I originally had cobalt blue crop pants, but it just didn't feel right.  So, I chose my "never fail" red skinnies and sequin top and threw on my casual black blazer.  An arm party and your favorite watch and you are ready for a night out!

In desperate need of a girls dinner night, so I threw this outfit together in hopes it will be happening soon!  The shorts over tights is a funky look, that only some have the balls to pull off.  Since a blazer is my thing, I added it to lighten up the color scheme and add some structure to the loose fitting blouse.  Added some funky bangles and a warm pendant with smoky brown eyes, this makes it more playful.  Hair in a bun makes it look so put together, beachy loose waves would be hot too.

I was asked for ideas on what to pair with burnt orange heels.  The first thing I thought of was no BLACK!  That automatically makes me think of Halloween!.... I would stick to more warm colors.  Maroon, oxblood, olive green, tan, brown, etc.  The outfit on the left is a dressy option for work.  Olive green herringbone blazer for $44, creme blouse and oxblood pencil skirt.  On the right is more casual, for work or play.  A plaid button down with that hint of orange in the pattern, and the corduroy pants color from Loft is called Deep Veranda, its a deep green and would work perfectly.  I would throw on a creme colored sweater if you don't want a ton of plaid showing.  I kept the accessories simple... you want to let the shoes do the popping for these outfits.

Today I chose a work appropriate way to wear the new hotness, leather.  The skirt is a great length for the office and I paired this with a cute Old Navy leopard sweater.  I kept the jewelry basic because I didn't want it looking too over the top.  The sweater can be paired with jeans on the weekend or the skirt can be paired with sexy open toed shoes for a night out on the town.  Either way, you're sticking on trend, and look super stylish!
