During the Holidays, hubby and I like to stop by friends houses for a visit. Most of our friends have kids, so we usually are the ones to head to their house for a visit, instead of hosting. I want to be cozy when I visit friends because I'm usually sitting on the floor playing with the kiddos, or rough housing with the family dog. Simple sweater, skinnies and riding boots are the perfect combo for being casual, yet still looking put together (I have these riding boots and I highly recommend them, super comfy and perfect brown color). Christmas week, hubby and I are planning to have a date day in NYC and going to go check out the tree and Rockefeller Center. I have a few things on my list on what I want to do, and most of it includes walking around everywhere. So, heels are not an option. I'm liking these flat over the knee black boots, they are cute even though they don't have a heel. Walking around the city, it's going to be chilly so a cute warm jacket and snood are a must. Dressing the outfit up a bit with fun earrings. Since I'm going to be covered up, no need to wear an arm party or necklace, for fear of them breaking or losing them. Casual days in the office around the holidays allow me to rock some pants I normally wouldn't wear, other than the weekends. I dressed up these Gap skinnies with a Stella & Dot statement necklace and a pair of leopard Nine West pumps. I am really liking this Coach bag. Besides dark colors for Winter, I also like to wear light gray. I usually pair it with darker colors, but today I decided to combine it with silver and stripes. A pop of pink and statement necklace and you are ready to go. If it's not warm enough to wear bare legs, you can add black opaque tights and booties instead. With the Holidays coming up, I'm slowly starting to think about what to wear to certain events/parties. Mid Dec. I have my Holiday party at work. It's from 5-9, so I will be going straight from the office. I don't really want to wear a cocktail dress all day while sitting in front of a computer, and don't feel like bringing an outfit to change, that just sounds a little too high maintenance for me. So, this black peplum top and mustard pencil skirt, (you can also wear a red pencil skirt if you want to feel more "tis the season") is perfect to wear from office to party. Saturday night we went out with friends and had a great time! This Gap dress is perfect for any season. You can wear this with booties, boots, flats, and then with sandals in the Spring. I love that it has sleeves, so you can wear it to work without a sweater if you want. These shoes are just plain awesome! The best trend right now is rocking an "arm party". Meaning, pair a few, usually 2 or 3 bracelets on the same arm as your watch. I had Columbus Day off and was running errands all day, and heading to an appointment so I wanted to still look put together, but not be "work dressed". Can you tell I'm loving fun shoes these days! You can have a basic outfit and then just add that BOOM, bad a$$ look with a fun statement shoe. I just ordered a pair of riding boots, but with this weather being as hot as it is, I'm leaning more towards getting more fun T-straps or booties, or pumps.

Today I found this fun striped cardigan from Gap (I'm on a Gap kick lately I guess) and I decided to show how to style it dressed up for work, and dressed down for a casual Friday. For work a normal workday, I paired it with a pair of black crop pants and mixed print with a leopard belt. When mixing prints, try to stay neutral everywhere else. That's why I chose a neutral purse and shoes. For a casual Friday outfit, I paired it with a pair of skinny jeans and comfortable Jessica Simpson wedges. Love this new dress I just bought from GAP. It's perfect for work and also a night out. Last week I went to Girls Night Out at the Westchester Mall with 3 of my girlfriends. It was so fun! There was a fashion makeover show with 3 lady's that were in need of a makeover and they ended up looking great. There was a ton of vendors lined up giving out food and wine samples and a lot of the stores were giving discounts to shop that night. It was a great night to get together with my ladies and see the new Fall fashion and try some tasty goodies from nearby White Plains restaurants.

We're in the market for a new house, so I wanted to put together an idea of what I would wear if we go to meet with a realtor and check out some houses. I wanted to be comfortable, getting in and out of the car, cute shoes that I could walk a lot in, and a larger purse to hold all our home fliers.
